Happy Easter! CJ of the Equiflexsleeve team here. It’s #selfiesunday and this week was my turn to take selfies for the next installment of the #selfiesunday blog on the road to Rolex. Where I live in northern NJ, it’s barely spring, the ground is still frozen, and it’s going back down into the 20s tonight, so I’m more than happy to do anything that makes me even think of spring, including dragging my horse out for selfies on the lawn on a sunny day.

So, I groomed up Sky who was wearing his Equiflexsleeves, because he’s coming off layup from hind suspensory injuries and they’ve been a huge help in keeping the puffiness under control as he rehabilitates. I figured, what better model? Or so I thought…

Laine Ashker makes this stuff look easy.

It’s not. Especially when you’ve decided that to celebrate Easter, you’ve donned Equiflexsleeve bunny ears, anEeaster basket, and a chirping chickadee with bunny ears as well. I had this great vision of fun pictures in classic #selfiesforlainey style. Man was I wrong! First, it was windy which just made my already hot headed OTTB edgier than usual. I donned the bunny ears and his eyeballs about popped out of his head! I even made him a pair, but it took significant bribing with mints just to convince him that I wasn’t trying to signal alien horse thieves from another planet with my antenna, but that this was all just in good fun. Suuuuuuuuure…..he didn’t believe me. So we scrapped the idea of him wearing ears too.

After many many mints and a lot of begging, and even a few explosions, bunny ears flying, and a chirping chickadee tossed from the Easter basked, we managed to get a few pictures. Sort of. Except he kept trying to eat the Easter grass. I guess he thought, if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em, huh?

So then this happened. Yup. A bunch of ridiculous selfies with my horse, and my now floppy Equiflexsleeve bunny ears.

I mean really, I know we look silly, but what a fun way to show off our favorite leg supports while also getting into the Easter spirit? Hey, at least he stopped being afraid of my bunny ears. And while you probably can’t see it that well, the Easter basket I am holding has a pair of Equiflexsleeves in it in purple with a chirping chickadee with blue bunny ears on. Yeah, it didn’t come out the way I had envisioned it in my head haha!
